WEATHER RELATED SCHOOL CLOSURES

If there are any changes to our regular schedule we will ALWAYS post information on FACEBOOK and at the top of our WEBSITE (if there is power) before 8:00 a.m.  KEEP CHECKING for updates after 8:00am in the event conditions change.   Because the staff may be dealing with their own power outages or weather situation, we will not be able to respond to individual messages on Facebook or e-mails regarding school closures.  Please use the two resources above to find out if there are changes to your child's class schedule.

SNOW / ICE CLOSURES

In the event of snowy road conditions here is our policy for determining whether school is open or closed. This policy does not apply to power outages.

Joyful Noise Preschool is in the KENT SCHOOL DISTRICT (KSD). We go by the KENT SCHOOL DISTRICT closure schedule for snow & ice weather conditions.

If KSD opens 2 hours late, only the morning (AM) preschool classes are cancelled.

If KSD is closed for the day, then preschool is also closed.

Road conditions can vary throughout the area. You and your child's safety are most important to us. If the preschool is open and roads are not safe where you live or you are not comfortable driving, please stay home and enjoy the day together!   Just give us a call and let us know your child will not be there.

We know it is a disappointment to our students and teachers when we have to delay or cancel school, however, your safety is our most important concern and is something we take into consideration when deciding to stay open or close.  We are up early in the morning watching road conditions, making phone calls, and if possible a staff member nearby will drive the roads & school parking lot to evaluate for safety.  This is all done before we update our status for the day.  We will always error on the side of caution.

POWER OUTAGE CLOSURES

School closure for power outages DO NOT follow the district schedule and will be on a case-by-case basis depending on weather conditions and length of power outage. In the event we are closed; parents who can help get the word out by texting other parents to let them know is very helpful.

Road conditions and power outages can vary throughout the area. You and your child's safety are most important to us. If the preschool is open and roads are not safe where you live, please stay home and enjoy the day together!

Power Outage During Class
In the event the power goes out while class is in session your teacher will contact you using their cell phones if you need to pick up your child early (keep your phone nearby).  As long as the classroom stays warm and it's not too dark, we will usually continue until class ends.
